Welcome to North Norfolk Different Strokes.

Who are we? We are a support and social group for stroke survivors, their carers, family and friends.

Where are we? We meet fortnightly at Pinewood Leisure Centre,  Holt Road, Upper Sheringham, Norfolk NR26 8TU from 2.30pm-4.30pm (please contact us for details of next meeting)

What do we do? We support each other in times of crisis.    Sometimes we have speakers on topics ranging from diabetes to falconry.   Weekly  exercise classes from qualified instructors (aqua-aerobics at Pinewood), free seated exercises, free relaxation classes and seated Yoga.   If you become a member of NNDS (£15 a financial year) you receive free aqua-aerobics, discounted membership of Pinewood Leisure Centre and free relaxation classes).  We venture out on day trips, mini-cruises and long weekends.

Who do we do it for? Those in the age group of 16-65 (working age).  We do not discriminate against gender, sexuality, nationality or ability.

Why do we do it? To give stroke survivors the opportunity to express their hopes and fears, to encourage, to support, to be together

How do you join? e-mail with your name, address, landline, mobile &  e-mail address.   You’ll be sent the date of the next meeting and a Different Strokes Info Pack.  Then you come along to a meeting and see what you think and if we are for you.   You can then  join NNDS it is £15 a financial year.

How do I get there? If you can drive there is ample parking at Pinewood Leisure Centre.  If you have a driver/carer they can bring you.   If you need to come by taxi NNDS may reimburse up to 25%  (subject to funding)

How are we financed? We fund raise, search out grants & accept donations.  We come under the umbrella of our Head Office in Milton Keynes, however we are self-governing and self-financing.
